Invite-only Unix shell accounts
ShadowShells is a real Unix shell hosting service: SSH accounts on a properly maintained box, invite-only. Most people here run IRC bots, bouncers, or just want a shell that isn't going anywhere. No unlimited-everything nonsense — resource plans, like it used to be done.

What you get
- Real shell access over SSH, not a walled-off web terminal
- eggdrop, ZNC, psyBNC, shroudBNC and EnergyMech — one command builds any of them into your home directory
- Classic tools: irssi, ZNC, mutt, alpine, lynx, w3m, links2, newsboat, screen, tmux, build-essential, tcl-dev, vim, nano
- Build helpers that handle the fiddly parts:
ss-build-znc,ss-build-eggdrop,ss-build-psybnc,ss-build-sbnc,ss-build-energymech - Optional small website and database on Standard and Power plans
- Incoming ports assigned by the system from the control panel — you don't pick the number
- Resource limits scoped to your plan: foreground and background process caps, memory, disk, bot slots, port slots
Requirements
- An invite from an existing user — there is no open signup
- Willingness to actually read /rules before you start
- Bots and bouncers behave on other networks too, not just this one
- No waitlist. Invite or nothing.
Getting an account
There is no signup form. Find someone who already has a ShadowShells account and ask them to vouch for you. They generate an invite from their control panel. The link is single-use — once it's redeemed, it's dead.
